Physical Infrastructure
The organisational headquarters are located in a rented
building in village Sitla. The founders of CHIRAG felt that permanent
infrastructure and buildings were unnecessary for an organisation with a mandate
to be a catalyst for development. However, given the constraints of finding
appropriate office space in rural areas - and our commitment to be headquartered
in a rural setting to remind us of our roots- we have now taken on the
construction of a small office and training centre in Orakhan, a settlement
quite close to Sitla.
Additional facilities include two experimental farms - one in
Ramgarh block (Nainital district) and the other in Bageshwar block (Bageshwar
district), a 30-bed training centre in Dhokane (Ramgarh block of Nainital), two
primary health care centres (Sargakhet and Sitla), and a veterinary clinic.
Offices are situated in all our project areas including Sitla and Sargakhet
(Mukteshwar working area), Naukuchiatal (Bhimtal area), Suyalkhet (Suyalbari
area) and Dewaldhar (Bageshwar project area).
